Greek Prime Minister Calls for Deepening Ties With Russia

Alexis Tsipras said Greece is going to develop ties with Russia in all spheres.
THESSALONIKI – Greece is going to develop ties with Russia in all spheres, country’s Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said at the opening ceremony of the 81st Thessaloniki International Fair.

“This year it [the fair] honors the friendly country – Russia. That is a country that had historical, cultural and spiritual ties with us. That is a country that is playing an important role in the international political and economic arena and we are striving for continuous deepening economic, diplomatic and cultural ties with it,” Tsipras said. He welcomed the Russian delegation headed by Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich and expressed the hope that Russian participation in the fair would be constructive. The 2016 Thessaloniki International Fair commenced earlier on Saturday and will run for nine days.
